Ah, so she liked to banter. That would do just fine. He ran his hand along the silk of his tie as he drank her in, his eyes sliding down her face, settling on those lips.

“Depends where Point B is.” She raised an eyebrow as she ran a finger along the top button of her light jacket, then down the front, all the way to the belt cinched tight at her waist. A summer breeze carried through the cooler night air.

“Point B is where I’m heading tonight,” he said, his voice confident, his eyes following her hand.

“Point B, you say?”

“Would you like to know what Point B is?”

“Perhaps I’ll find out soon.” She tilted her head. “What about adventure? How would you rate boats for that?”

“Some”—he lingered on the word—“can be playgrounds for adventure.”

“And perhaps for trouble then, too.”

He reached for the end of the belt on her jacket, fingering the material. “Why do I think you like both trouble and adventure?”

Raising her chin, she held his gaze. “I’m in the mood for adventure right now. How about you?”

“I’m equally adept at both.” His fingers traveled up the belt to the knot in the middle. He had no intention of untying it, though. Point B didn’t require the removal of clothing.

“What sort of adventure can a stranger like you have with a woman like me?” she asked, her breath catching for a second when he skimmed a finger across the exposed skin of her collarbone.

His palm found the back of her neck. A sweet little gasp escaped her lips. “I could tell you,” he murmured, leaning closer, “or I could show you.”

She grabbed his tie and tugged him closer. “What if I want you to do both?”

“Then, gorgeous, you’re about to get a big show and tell.”

As soon as I started Filthy Bastard by Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield I was drawn into the world they created. It was often raw and ugly but also had a beauty to it. It was these conflicting points to the story that helped to hold my attention and made me not put it down until I read it cover to cover.

I have been wanting to dive back into the world of the Kavanagh’s since I finished Breaking a Legend – and Sarah Robinson did not disappoint with Kieran’s story in Saving a Legend.

Let’s start off with how this is a series. Yes it is a series. Do I recomend you read them all in order? Well, yes because you will love this family! But no you don’t need to in order to enjoy the stories. They are interconnected standalones that each feature another member of the Kavanagh family. The Kavanagh family is well known in the Bronx, for their gym Legends.. and for other reasons. 😉

Right now Kieran is kind of the black sheep of the family. He was just released from jail and is trying his best to fit back in and find his place among his large family. Easier said than done. Trying to show that you aren’t the same person as you were before, can be a tough road. But what happens when he walks into a flower shop to buy flowers for his mom? (Yes cue the AHHHHHHHHs – the big, huge, tough ex-felon loves his mom!) Well he comes face to face with Fiona.

Fiona is the young owner of the flower shop and she knocks Kieran’s world off his axis. Just 2 days out of prison and he can’t get her out of his head. Not only is Fiona the owner of the shop, but she also has custody of her little sister. And her little sister, Shea is such a precious addition to this story.

Fiona and Kiran are both holding secrets close to their hearts and you know secrets never stay hidden. Is there relationship strong enough to stand in the light of these?

Shea – Fiona’s little sister and a child in the youth center where Kieran is performing community service. Shea fits seamlessly into this story while also serving as a catalyst for Kieran and Fiona’s relationship. Sarah Robinson has tackled an often difficult subject matter with grace, compassion and also realism. What is this I am talking about? Well Shea is a young child with autism spectrum disorder. Now we are all aware that just like any other disease/disorder out there it can manifest differently in individuals. But Sarah Robinson took the time to portray this sweet girl accurately. Giving a name and face to this oft talked about disorder. While also showing the complexity and stress involved in not only raising a child alone, but raising one who has special needs. It added depthness to the book.

The characters are so well written. They were multidimensional – and I just love when we get to see different sides of characters! Fiona and Kieran held me captivated as they grew into themselves and their relationship. The side characters… well you already know how I feel about Shea… and the Kavanaghs such a fabulous family. Like any family they have their conflicts but when push comes to shove they all stand by each other. As someone who also comes from a large family, I really appreciate that!

This was a book with a sweet romance. Kieran pursuing Fiona (and Shea) will just melt your heart. But things do get steam between Kieran and Fiona! (I really want a Kavanagh man for myself! Just thought I would throw that out here!) Don’t miss this heartwarming read!
