Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy…

Nestled among rolling hills and painted with vibrant wildflowers, the bucolic town of Storm, Texas, seems like nothing short of perfection.

But there are secrets beneath the facade. Dark secrets. Powerful secrets. The kind that can destroy lives and tear families apart. The kind that can cut through a town like a tempest, leaving jealousy and destruction in its wake, along with shattered hopes and broken dreams. All it takes is one little thing to shatter that polish.

Reading like an on-going drama in the tradition of classic day and night-time soap operas like Dallas, Dynasty, and All My Children, Rising Storm is full of scandal, deceit, romance, passion, and secrets.

With 1001 Dark Nights as the “producer,” Julie Kenner and Dee Davis use a television model with each week building on the last to create a storyline that fulfills the promise of a drama-filled soap opera. Joining Kenner and Davis in the “writer’s room” is an incredible group of New York Times bestselling authors such as Lexi Blake, Elisabeth Naughton, Larissa Ione, Rebecca Zanetti and Lisa Mondello who have brought their vision of Storm to life.

A serial soap opera containing eight episodes in season one, the season premiere of Rising Storm, TEMPEST RISING, debuted September 24th with each subsequent episode releasing consecutively this fall.

So get ready. The storm is coming.

About TAKE THE STORM: Episode 6 of the Rising Storm Series

Secrets, Sex and Scandals …

Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy… Get ready. The storm is coming.

Marisol Moreno has spent her youth taking care of her younger siblings. Now, with her sister, Ginny, in crisis, and her brother in the throes of his first real relationship, she doesn’t have time for anything else. Especially not the overtures of the incredibly compelling Patrick Murphy.

Jill’s Review for TAKE THE STORM

So by now you are well aware of my little (ok maybe NOT so little) addiction to soaps and the soap operaish series Rising Storm. And how I may just get a little giddy when I see a new episode appear on my kindle each week. So this week we are three-quarters of the way through the season as we hit Episode #6 Take The Storm by Rebecca Zanetti.

This week the focus is on Marisol Moreno. We have gotten to know her throughout the weeks as she has interacted and cared for her sister Ginny and her brother Luis. This has in fact been her life… caring and parenting her siblings ever since her parents died and she left college to step into their role. Yet, it seems like she never feels as if she is good enough, perfect enough for them. She worries that every slip up they have (and trust me there are slips – some typical some a bit more) is all her fault. She takes every slight deeply and personally. And because of this Marisol has put her own life on hold. But Ginny is in college, and quite noticeably preggers and living with the Salts now (can we say slap on the face to her sister!) and Luis is in High School (with his own set of teen angst and drama) it really should be ok for Marisol to start stepping outside of the bubble she has set up around herself. And clearly Patrick Murphy thinks it is time too! He has been hanging around, trying with Marisol. It is clear to everyone they have feelings. But she has been shying away forever now. And Patrick is now putting his foot down. What will Marisol do? Will she come around and let Patrick into her life? Or will she continue to ride the storm alone?

I loved getting into both Marisol and Patrick’s mind. Seeing what they were both thinking and why. It is interesting because it left me both frustrated and more understanding at the same time. I could see where Marisol was coming from and empathise with her while at the same time wanting to shake her and say look at this amazing man you have standing here. And seeing Patrick’s thoughts and how he wanted to swoop in and help her out and be there and support her, yet at the same time I wanted to shake him and say then don’t give an ultimatum!! Chip away at her!! Don’t scare her more!!

I definitely recommend that you tune into this series. Just start from the beginning 😉 They are fun, quick reads that will grab, you and suck you in!

I received a complimentary copy of Take The Storm in exchange for my honest review.
