I wasn’t sure what to expect when I swiped the first page of Kindle Alexander’s Secret but she swept me away with the story and I am so, just happy that I finally took the plunge and gave into my desire to read her books. They have been sitting there (probably alongside a thousand others – some of you have that #1click problem too, right?) on my TBR because I see them and they just sound so good, and then I never get to them. Well, I can tell you after reading Secret, that is one TBR issue that will soon be rectified!
The synopsis of Secret makes the book sound quite taboo and also like it will push many peoples limits. Married man with children, and brainchild of the wildly successful Secret, a new social media site has a secret of his own he has kept his whole adult life. Until the passion is too much when he meets the gorgeous man who is buying out his company. That just screams out to all those limits that people yell about — cheating, triangles, blah blah blah. I so don’t want to give away the story. Because well, I just hate that! I am a firm believer in reading a book to experience it for yourself. So I just need to say that really isn’t how that enfolds here. Trust me on that. Give it a chance. Dylan is a sweet and loyal guy and would never do that to his family, so trust in the story and believe me when I say that this won’t push you if those are your limits.
I loved the interactions between the characters. Watching how the relationship grew between Dylan and Tristan. How Tristan drew Dylan out of his shell and made him more comfortable with himself and in turn how that changed Tristan as well. I loved watching the interactions with Dylan’s family and his wife. And the other side characters in the office. I just felt they were all done well and helped to flesh out the story and truly make it feel real. The story flows well and talks about how important finding love really is.
This was my first m/m book and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect… but it was really hot! (Honestly, I don’t know why I am surprised – just thought I would throw that out there!) But I figure there may be virgins out there like I was, who are too embarrassed to admit that they don’t know what it would be like to read it.. so guess what — It. Is. Freaking. Hot. As. Hell! Go for it. Try it out. What do you have to lose? She writes an amazing story-line that is also sexy as can be 😉

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
