It’s been years since my mother was in my life.
I healed.
I learned to accept love.
I lived.
That’s all done. She was away, and now she’s back.
I’ve avoided her for a year and a half, but I can’t hide anymore.
Mason has an internship in Fallen Crest, so we’re heading back for the summer.
And when we got there—no one was prepared for what happened.

He sits there, staring at the interviewer.

The interviewer asks, “Do you have any advice to give us?”

“Who is us?” He scratches behind his ear. “Who am I talking to?”

“To us. To me. To….readers who like the series. Give us some advice for life.”

“Uh….” He thinks a moment, then holds up a finger. “Get a really good mom like mine. And if you don’t have one, find one, like Sam did. She lucked out. She wasn’t looking, but she got us. Oh–don’t be afraid to do what’s best for your loved ones. I spoke up against Mason. I’m going to own that. I don’t know. He…I worry about Sam sometimes, but I should. She’s my sister. You know? Do you understand? I mean, yeah, they’re soulmates. And yeah, Sam doesn’t really listen to anyone except Mason and Logan so my opinion doesn’t matter, but I’m her brother now. I’m her real stepbrother, well–so are they, but you know what I mean. I was her real stepbrother a whole year before them. That counts, right? I’m not sleeping with her. I don’t look at her like that. If anyone, I’m the genuine brother to her. My opinion should matter, but it doesn’t. Mason shut me down, literally. I think he actually told me to shut up and sit down. See what I did there? Shut down. Shut up and sit down. Yeah. I put them together. Okay– more advice. Uh.” He cocks his head to the side, his eyes narrowing. He shrugs. “I don’t know, maybe just be really sure who you love. Yeah. Get a good mom like I have, if a girl is generally known as a bitch, don’t date her because if you fall in love with her, then…. You’re stuck with her.” He winces. “I hope Cass never sees this. She’ll take my nuts. I should stop giving advice.” He nods to himself and stands, throwing up a peace sign. “Peace. Love. Prosper. My advice, everyone!”

Wednesday by Kendall Ryan ~ Promo Campaign

hump day avail now (1)

ebook WedNo strings attached.

It’s not what I really want, but it’s all he has to offer. He’s filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me. How much I desire him, how desperate he makes me, how much I’d like things to be different between us. Real.

He used to be my best friend back before he got married. And now? Now, he’s a young widower. It’d be wrong on so many levels to expect something more from him. So I give him what he needs. Dark delicious fucking. But I know I can’t keep this up. I’ve already given him my body, my soul. I want him to have my heart. It might drive him away forever, but that’s a risk I’m forced to take.

Wednesday is an angsty romp told from dual points of view. If you’re in the mood for something quick and dirty, you’ve found it. Proceed at your own risk.

About Why I Wrote this Book:

The concept for what would eventually become WEDNESDAY was one of those random ideas that popped into my head in February 2016. It was a Saturday morning—you know the kind where you’re still lounging in your pajamas, drinking coffee, and picking at breakfast several hours after waking? Yes, one of those. My kids were playing on the living room floor, my husband flipping through a magazine across from me. It was winter in Minnesota, which meant it was absolutely freezing out and we had no plans to go anywhere.

I grabbed my laptop and wrote out the blurb for a book I knew I had no time to write. I e-mailed it to my publicist and said, “What do you think about this idea?” Her response was enthusiastic, something along the lines of, “You need to write this book! Right now!” So I opened a blank document, and soon I had the beginning of a first chapter.

Because this project didn’t fit into my writing schedule (like, at all), I decided that I would continue writing the books I was supposed to in order to keep on track with my releases, but that I would write one thousand words a night on this book too, and just see where it took me. It was a hard couple of months, alternating between two projects—one I would write during the day in present tense, and this book in the evening after dinner, dishes, and bath time, in past tense. This book was basically written with the help of wine, my couch, and a good playlist, which I included for you at the end.

Chloe and Shaw didn’t even have names for the first several weeks. I didn’t outline or plot. I had no idea where the story was heading . . . I just had a haunted what if question in my head.

What if the man you’d grown up with, your lifelong best friend and secret crush, suddenly lost his wife? In what ways would his grief shape your new relationship? To what lengths would you go to be there for him?

Is it controversial? Inappropriate? Maybe. But love doesn’t have boundaries, and in telling this story, I let these heartsick, broken characters lead me. I knew they could find their happily-ever-after. And I also knew it would be a short story. Those were the only things I knew for sure.

I’m so glad that I stuck with it and spent all those evenings allowing their story to unfold. I hope you are too.

I’d thought about calling this whole thing off countless times—telling him no the next time he showed up at my door at two a.m. with a wild look in his eyes, his fists clenched at his sides, and whiskey on his breath. But I always saw what was beneath—his broken soul that needed soothing, and a heavy heart that I alone knew how to handle with care.

Who was I kidding? The only way I knew to make him feel better was to reach down and palm his erection, and whisper that I needed him.

I wanted him to heal. I wanted him to be okay. And for those few hours every week, if he could lose himself in me, I was only too happy to oblige.

September Series by Andrea Smith ~ Promo Tour

Sins of September, Book 1 in the September Series
I’m no angel. I never was. But when Mama left us just short of my fourteenth birthday, any chance of me becoming angelic flew out the window.

My step-father, Jesse, had been the only ‘father-figure’ in my life from the time I was six years-old, but all that came to an end when Mama left. I was sent to live with my grandparents in another state; my half-sister, Scout, remained with Jesse, her daddy. And my world had crashed around me.

Fast-forward four years. I’m almost eighteen and a somewhat normal teenage girl who’s curious about her sexuality, and determined to find someone like my Mama had – but hadn’t appreciated. As luck would have it, my stepfather wants me to spend the summer going into my senior year in Arkansas with them. He needs me to take care of my little sister, Scout over the summer.

Four years have changed both Jesse and me in ways we hadn’t considered. It isn’t long before I encounter the obstacles involved in getting what it is I really want: Jesse Ryan.

Complications follow, and I learn more than I ever anticipated that summer, not only about myself and my sexuality, but also about being true to myself, and putting others that I love first.

When September Ends
Book 2
September Series
This book is the sequel to “Sins of September.”
My name is Jesse Ryan. I’m thirty, single (not officially divorced) but that’s a long story. Up until the summer of 2010, I was doing just fine raising my only child, Scout. I’m a construction worker in Fort Smith, AK. But that summer I needed some help with Scout. So that’s when I sent for my 17-year-old stepdaughter—and Scout’s half-sister, September. She has been living with her grandparents in Mississippi ever since her mother—and my estranged wife, Libby, had taken off on all of us years prior.
September turned out to be a very resourceful young woman, effectively ambushing my first budding romance since her mother had left us. But she didn’t stop there. Shortly after her 18th birthday, I found myself inexplicably drawn to her. Yeah, I get that there’s a twelve year age difference, but despite my better judgement and solid resolve, the heart wants what the heart wants.
Up until now, we have kept our relationship discreet, planning our future together. I’m preparing to start my own business, and September is preparing to start her freshman year of college. Then we get . . . the news.  And everything we’ve been planning is suddenly and inexplicably torn from us.
After more than five years without a word, my estranged wife, Libby, resurfaces. She had been seriously injured and now suffers from total amnesia. She doesn’t remember any of us.
Now decisions need to be made, and everyone looks to me to be the one to make them. But how can I make a decision that will be in everyone’s best interest?

My mind drifts back to the day Jesse said good-bye to me.
The day he came here to pick up Scout.
Scout was tickled to death to see him after being away all summer. She had asked about Mama and Jesse shook his head and said, “No word.”
He sent her out to the car after she hugged and kissed us all good-bye. Jesse assured my grandparents they were always welcome, and that he’d bring Scout to visit when he could. Gram and Grandpa were pleased about that.
“And you,” he said, crouching down to be eye level with me, my heart was hoping that the next words out of his mouth would be, “We want you to come with us if you have a mind to.”
But those weren’t his words.
“You behave your grandparents, and keep up with your good grades. You’re a smart girl, September. I know you’ll have a bright future. Now I’ll keep in touch to make sure you’re behaving, hear?”
I nodded, hoping that I could hold back the tears that threatened to spill. Jesse acted as if he didn’t notice. “I have something for you,” he said, reaching into the pocket of his jeans.
He handed me a small box. Inside was a heart-shaped locket on a gold chain. The locket was the kind that can hold a tiny picture. There wasn’t a picture in this one.
“I reckon you’ll be breaking hearts soon enough. That locket is for you to put a picture of your true love inside, that way you’ll always have him close to your heart.”
He hugged me, and I thanked him feeling like I’d never see him again. I waited until he and Scout where just a spec on the horizon before I went upstairs to my room and let the flood gates open.

“Have you learned your lesson?” he asks.

I moan in response. My mind reverts back to the total pleasure he’s inflicting within my core with each and every thrust.
“We’ve got to be quiet, September. We can’t wake Scout, hear?”
“Are you ready to learn something new, September?”
He placed his hands on each of my shoulders, and gently pressed me down. “On your knees, woman.”
“I’ve missed you, September. You’re not leaving me,” he whispers hoarsely before moving downward, his tongue tracing a hot path across my belly, his fingers plucking at my panties, moving them down over my hips, so that he has full access to my heat.
“Then you’re mine?” he asks, and I can’t think of any better way that he could’ve put that question.
I feel his tongue tracing the shell of my ear, his warm breath caressing my skin. He nips at my lobe, and whispers, “I’ve thought about this all fucking day. About being inside of you, claiming what is mine.”
“Fuck September,” he growls loudly, “Where the hell are your panties?”
“You bastard,” he hisses, standing up as if he’s going to take me on. “What have you done? Seduced my granddaughter? She’s a child for heaven’s sake!”

I grab my backpack and head out of my room just as Mama is coming down the hall towards her room.
“Well, I see you’ve gotten exactly what you set out to get, haven’t you?”
This is new.
“Excuse me?”
“Your neighbor, Casey, filled in the blanks for me,” she replies quietly. “You know, I almost wish Mama and Daddy hadn’t found me. Maybe living in ignorance would’ve been bliss compared to this. All these sinners that surround me at every turn, it’s so disheartening.”
And, for whatever reason, I’m determined that she’s not going to get away with hosting a pity party for herself.
I drop my backpack, and cross my arms, staring her down. “You,” I say very succinctly, “don’t get to play victim here, Mama. And most of all, save your sanctimonious bullshit for someone that doesn’t know you like we all do.”
“No, you are the one that made things the way they are right now. You get credit for that all by yourself. You left Jesse, you left Scout and you left me. You don’t get to waltz back into our lives and expect forgiveness for all that you’ve brought upon yourself and that continues to spill over into our lives and make us miserable.”
“I–I can’t believe you’re talking to your own Mama that way! You sleep with my husband and bring shame upon this family, have you no decency, September?”
“Decency? Decency?” I ask incredulously, “What would you know of decency, Mama? When was the last time you showed any decency?”
She’s glaring at me hatefully now, and then her eyes narrow. “The Bible says ‘to err is human, and to forgive is divine.”
I pick up my backpack and look at her, and I almost feel pity for the person standing there. Almost, but not quite.
“That’s not from the Bible. It’s from a poem by Alexander Pope. And I don’t forgive you, Mama. Maybe God will, but I won’t.”

Her loss would be his gain after all.Hannah will have to choose, but making the wrong choice will cost much more than a broken heart.

Everyone has a motive.

But only one of them has a plan.

Expect the unexpected in the thrilling conclusion to the Spend the Night series.

“Follow me,” I said, taking Carter’s hand in mine.  It had been forty-eight hours since I’d learned about Mark’s death.  The police investigation hadn’t turned up anything, so for the time being the security team was still watching me like a hawk.  Whoever had killed Mark seemed to be laying low, nothing of any concern had happened since.

I was making a concentrated effort to not let everything that had happened affect who I was.  Or who I wanted to be.  I wanted to be the girl that believed the police would do their job and everything would be okay.  I wanted to be the girl that enjoyed the beginnings of a new relationship with a great guy.  Carter had been very supportive over the last couple days.  He’d made sure to check in with me regularly and kept an ever watchful eye out for anything suspicious.

I offered up a playful smile as we made our way down the hall from the Scarlet Ballroom.  The two of us had met with Alison to discuss the menu and table layout for the wedding.  Trent was notably absent.  I hadn’t seen him since Carter had whisked me out of the security office.  A part of me knew it was for the best, but another kept waiting for him to rush in and declare his innocence.

Alison was unusually chatty that morning—reiterating how ecstatic she was about becoming Mrs. Crawford.  Luckily, Carter was on his game that morning.  He’d been more accommodating than I felt like being and even had an idea that would make the flow of service move more quickly for the wait staff.  And while a part of me was grateful that he had such an eye for detail, I’d silently cursed myself for not thinking of it in the first place.  Just another sign that my head wasn’t in the game like it used to be.  I was supposed to be groomed and ready to take over as the C.O.O. of The Wellesley-Crawford Hotel, not flouting around like some rookie event planner.

Not that I didn’t have a somewhat justifiable reason.  Just when I thought I was finally coming down from everything that happened the night of the Gala, Carter showed up.  Then Trent showed up. My shit show love life took precedence over every logical thought I once had in my head. That was until I realized someone was stalking me and now possibly involved in the murder of a man I went on a date with.  If this is what it was like to have a full plate, I needed to start a diet as soon as possible.

My head was still spinning.  I hadn’t had a moment to myself and it was starting to affect me.  My current company excluded, having a body guard up my ass twenty-four-seven was really cramping my style.  I knew that I needed one to be safe, but I’d always been a do-as-I-please kind of girl.  Now I was asking permission to use the restroom in my own hotel.

“Where are we going?” he asked, pulling my body to a halt. The guard tasked with keeping tabs on me believed I was still in the inside ballroom, so I needed to move fast if I wanted a moment alone with Carter.

He brushed up against my side and firmly planted his lips on my neck before kissing up to my ear.  “God, you smell amazing,” he whispered, before a bellhop turned the corner catching us both by surprise.  We both straightened up as if we weren’t about to rip each other’s clothes off. The sexual tension had been building between us since our last encounter, unfortunately, time or convenience hadn’t been on our side. Both of us had been swamped with work and conflicting schedules. Stolen kisses and the occasional embrace were all we’d managed to work in over the last few days. Not to mention, any time he did stop by my suite, the thought of a bodyguard sitting outside my door and knowing exactly what we were doing kind of killed the mood. Today was different though. Today I was making it a priority to get some quality time with him.

Author Bio:

Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany… I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

“I told you I don’t do relationships,” he said and couldn’t believe the words had come out of his mouth.

“You did,” she said simply, and walked past him to look out the window for the car.

He went to stand beside her. “I never lied to you.”

She shrugged and continued to look out the window.

Fight it as he did, he couldn’t deny how much he wanted to turn her around, pull her into his arms, and kiss her until they found a way past this. He didn’t, though. Instead, he muttered, “I have nothing to feel sorry about.”

She turned back toward him, her eyes flashing with temper. “You think I want an apology from you? Please spare me. I’m not angry with you. I’m angry with me. You are the same man I met in this very foyer and told myself to forget about. You’re right. You told me who you were and what you wanted. I am the one who made up an entirely different and completely fictional version of you.” She waved her hands sarcastically in the air. “I absolve you of all wrongdoing. Are you happy now?”

“No,” he growled and grabbed one of her arms. “I’m not happy with any of this.”

She leaned in and growled right back at him, “Good, at least you’re willing to admit that much.”

“I don’t want you here,” he said angrily.

“Then let go of my arm,” Tara snapped back.

“But I don’t want you to leave,” he said just as curtly. He tightened his grip on her arm.

“Then ask me to stay,” she said, her tone still angry.

A horn blared in the driveway announcing the arrival of the car he’d called to take her to the airport. He and Tara stood in a silent standoff, their ragged breathing the only sound in the large foyer. Outside the car blared its horn again.

“Is your name actually Tara?” he asked softly.

“Yes. Almost everything I said to you was true. The only part that was a lie was how I met Maddy and why I was spending so much time with her.”

“He’s Brigitte’s . . . whatever. If last night went how Dyson hoped, they’re having breakfast together right now.”

“I won’t make you any promises.”

Tara said, “Do you know what I do for a living? Normally, I mean? I follow unfaithful men around and provide photographic proof of their infidelity to their wives. I probably wouldn’t believe any vows if you made them.”

Max frowned. He didn’t like her answer. He didn’t know what he wanted her to say, but he knew that wasn’t it. He needed to somehow get back in control of the conversation. “We’ll keep things casual.”

For a moment he thought she wasn’t pleased with that idea, but she said, “Casual. Perfect. We both do what we want when we want and don’t worry about what either of us are doing when we’re not together.”

Max liked that comment even less. “You’re not sleeping with anyone else while you’re with me.”

Tara put a hand on one hip and cocked her head to the side. “Casual means you don’t have a say in what I do, or who I do, when I’m not with you.”

Max glared down at Tara.

She glared up at him.

He couldn’t take it anymore; he picked her up and started carrying her back up the stairs to the bedroom.

She wrinkled her nose at him, her eyes warming as the same need that had overtaken him began to spread through her. “The car is going to leave.”

“Good,” he said, breathing in the heavenly scent of her hair and imagining how it would feel on his thigh as those luscious lips of hers closed around his cock.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, “Is this your way of asking me to stay?”

He grinned down at her. “No, I’ll ask by licking that ***** of yours until you come in my mouth.”

She hid her face in his neck, but he saw her blush and smile as she did. “That works for me.”
