Synopsis:

I, Makayla Alexander, am on a mission to reinvent myself. So when a super hot guy boards the plane and flashes his rock hard abs, I pay attention. When he sits next to me and offers me his nuts, I can’t resist. But when I choke on them and he tells me I need to work on my gag reflex, I realize I might be in over my head.

Before I know it we’re in the lavatory and attempting to join the Mile High Club. Let me just say this…anyone who tells you it’s easy to get it on at 37,000 feet isn’t telling you the truth. After the flight attendant busts us for getting frisky in the air, the only thing that can ease my total and complete mortification is the simple fact that I am never going to see him again.

Hours later, I can’t help but wonder if fate will ever allow me to become a new version of myself.

Because Fate, she’s a fickle bitch.

Case in point…my seatmate is my new next-door neighbor.

Even with the whole fate thing we have going on, we are so not meant to be together. He’s all cool and sexy in that make love not war kind of way. Guys like him are dangerous. With that bring-you-to-your-knees body, that handsome-as-hell face, and that dirty, dirty mouth, I guarantee one glance from him wets every girl’s bikini bottoms.

And then there’s me…the quirky girl looking to find herself in California. All I want to do is learn to let loose. Say words like peace and groovy. Bury my toes in the sand. Who knows, maybe even have sex on the beach.

Unable to get him out of my head, I entertain the thought of being more than just friends. I know the idea is absurd. And yet, I go with it. You see Camden Waters gets me. Really gets me. Like no other guy has before.

On this 7-mile stretch of paradise, I decide to keep things simple and just have fun…that is until fate decides to screw with me, again.

Can two people hell-bent on finding themselves realize the search should have ended the day they met? Find out in No Pants Required—a sexy, funny, romantic stand-alone, that will have you hurrying to grab your bathing suit and rushing to the beach to check out every lifeguard on duty.

Review

Jill’s Review

As soon as you see the cover and read the title, No Pants Required, you just know that this is going to be a fun, flirty, sexy read from Kim Karr.

I don’t know about you, but with summer here I love a good light read that will make me smile, but still has some heat to it. And that is exactly what No Pants Required was!

After a bad breakup Makayla realizes she lost herself along the way. It’s time for a change. So she moves to Laguna Beach in a quest to find herself. Her BFF Maggie, who she is going to stay with in Cali, wants to help her loosen up a bit, find herself again, so she challenges her with a list of tasks she needs to complete – and being a total type A personality she has never met a list she doesn’t like or need to check everything off of!

Now she is off on a plane to start over. And wouldn’t you know it a total HOTTIE sits next to her on the plane. A sexy stranger with a dirty mouth and a talent to turn everything into sexual innuendos! Is the mile high club in their future? (After all that would check an item off the list!) But all is good because Makayla will never see this man again once they land. Right? Bahahaha… of course that is NOT right! This sex on a stick man is Maggie’s next door neighbor – looks like there is no escaping him. And really with the sexual chemistry that ignites when they are near, this should be a good thing!

I was in love with how these characters were written. Makayla has such a quirky, fun voice! She is so easy to relate to. Having her life shaken up, needing to reinvent herself, seeing her insecurities – all something most of us can relate to. And swoonworthy Camden… *sigh* please come find me and read to me!!!! Both come to the party with baggage, but they make each other stronger.

This book had me smiling so much. But don’t be fooled – just because it is a light summer read – the couple did have their share of issues to keep your interest and complicate their story.

I definitely recomend this book. If you are looking for a great summer read, that is HOT and fun and romantic then look no further!

I received a complimentary copy of No Pants Required in exchange for my honest review.

“I hate flying because I’m scared of heights…or, more specifically, falling. I don’t like bungee jumps, being near ledges, or even looking down from a tall building. It sets my heart racing and gives me a little vertigo. And sometimes on bridges, I need to walk on the inside of the sidewalk and look down at the ground to get across.”

Now he looks sympathetic. “My sister is afraid to fly. Her solution is to pop a Xanax as soon as she boards. It usually holds her over until landing.”

“I thought about it,” I admit.

His eyes are still hidden by the dark frames of his Wayfarers, and I really want to see them.
“Can I get you something?” the blond flight attendant asks him. The way she looks at him, I’m surprised she doesn’t say, “Coffee, tea, or me?”

He glances toward her. “Yeah, sure. I’ll have a Corona with a lime and a couple bags of peanuts.”

She reaches in her pocket and hands him two bags of Planters. “Here you go. And I’ll be right back with that beer.”

She’s off in a jiffy, eager beaver that she is.

“Miss,” he calls.

She turns.

“Some chocolate, too, if you have any.”

Her responding nod is almost seductive.

“Thanks,” he tells her and shoves one of the bags in the pouch in front of him. The sexy stranger then rips open the other bag and pours some of the peanuts in his palm. “Here, have some of my nuts.”

Nervous laughter spouts out of me and even though I’d never eat out of a stranger’s hand, I find myself considering trying his nuts.

Yes, I thought that.

The rakish tilt of his lips mesmerizes me as he continues to hold out his palm. “Come on, you know you want to try my nuts.”

Aha! He is so trying to be dirty.

Still, it makes me laugh enough that my wineglass starts shaking in my hand. “Oh, no, that’s where you’re wrong. My mother taught me never to take food from a guy I don’t know.”

Emptying all the peanuts into his palm, he crumples the empty bag and shoves that into the pouch, too.

I hate when people put their trash there, but it doesn’t seem to bother me right now because I’m a little preoccupied watching him.

As if he has a secret, his lips tip up a little more. He has the best smile. Unexpectedly, he pinches one of the peanuts and lifts it. “It’s ‘don’t take candy from strangers.’”

There’s a hush in the air. It takes me a moment to find my breath. “Right. That’s the saying.”

His hand moves closer to my lips. “First of all, this isn’t candy, it’s protein, and I doubt your mother ever told you not to eat protein.”

My breath hitches. “No, she didn’t.”

“And secondly, we’re not strangers. We’re seatmates. I don’t know who you think I am, but I wouldn’t offer my nuts to just anyone.”

Laughter roars out of me.

Somehow he manages to stop himself from completely losing it. With his smirk in place, he’s determined to get me to eat this peanut and moves his fingers even closer. “Come on, try it. You know you want to.”

As shocking as it seems, I find myself opening for him, and he drops the capsule of protein right on my tongue. For one brief second I imagine taking his hand and holding it to my mouth so I can lick the salt off his fingers. Oh, geez, what is wrong with me? Last night must have gotten me more worked up than I realized.

“Good, right?” he breathes.

Feeling flushed from head to toe, I give him a nod while chewing, then I swallow.
When I do, I start to choke. The peanut is stuck. Oh, this can’t be happening. Coughing profusely, I try to unlodge it and force it up.

Concern flashes in his eyes. “Are you okay?”

I nod and manage to say, “I’m fine. Just went down the wrong pipe.”

No longer concerned for my safety, he asks, “Trouble swallowing my nuts?”

Still choking, I have no choice but to spit the peanut into my cocktail napkin.
Real lady-like.

His eyes are on me. I can feel them.

When I look up, there’s a coyness about him.

That grin turns devilish. “I’m sorry you choked on my nuts, but you might want to work on your gag reflex.”

Dirty, dirty, boy.

“What would I do without your wit?”

He quirks a brow and sits back. “You know you prefer me sitting next to you than sitting alone.”

“You think so, do you?”

“I know so. I mean, come on, you’ve already eaten my nuts and we’re still on the ground. Who knows what will happen when we’re in the air. With me by your side, you won’t have any time to think about being nervous.”

There is a dip in my belly, and we haven’t even taken off yet.

Jasper Storm

What kind of person willingly drives a thirty-six-foot racing machine at breakneck speed through ten-foot waves?

The kind that isn’t put off by the possibility of smashing his nose against the steering wheel if he has to come to an abrupt stop when racing around the track—that’s who.

Today though, Lake St. Clair tops out with uninhibiting two-foot waves at the most, and my speed is tempered by the amount of passengers on board.

Classic Beatles is playing from the speakers on deck. Drew is leaning back in the cushions of the wraparound benches behind me with a beer in his hand. Jake and Shannon are sitting up in the sun loungers on the bow, both also with brews in hand.

Sitting at the helm, Charlotte is standing next to me in a simple black bikini that shows so much skin it is driving me crazy, her mounds of blond curls blowing in the wind making my fingers itch to run through them, and her sunglasses preventing me from seeing her blue eyes. I wrap my arm around her and guide her to stand in front of me. “You take the wheel.”

“I haven’t driven a boat in years.”

Standing, I pull her even closer. My board shorts feeling tighter by the second. “It’s like riding a bike.”

Looking over her shoulder at me, she gives me a quick kiss on the cheek. “I’ll give it a try,” she says.

Just that slight touch of her lips ignites a fire that starts to flame through my veins. When she takes the wheel, my body is ablaze. Unable to keep my hands off her, I compromise my need to touch her by covering my hands over hers. The cast prohibiting me from making the full connection I’m craving. I hate that she still bears the mark of her attack. I shove that thought away.

It’s a beautiful day, sunny as fuck and not a cloud in sight. The wind has picked up a little the further out we go, and when the softness of her hair brushes against my neck, it sends a shiver racing down my spine.

Taking a seat in the captain’s chair, I pull her onto my lap. The slight curves of her body fit me perfectly. Unable to compromise any longer, discreetly, my hands roam her body. Sliding down her thighs, up her arms, tucking under the small fabric at her hips. I can’t help myself.

Ten minutes or so goes by as we pass over the water like it’s a sheet of glass. I kiss her—her neck, her throat, her jaw. Take a little nip at her shoulder and then soothe it with my tongue.

Concentrating on driving, I’m surprised when she unexpectedly tips her head back so we can kiss.

The instant douse of arousal I feel is unlike that from the small flirtatious moves I’ve been making. This is full-out sexuality. Our lips meet, softly, gingerly. She’s sitting on my thigh, and her ass is against my cock. She shifts a little and I groan softly against the wet slide of her tongue, and all the muscles in my body knot in sweet tension. The fire in my veins bursts into flames from the slight friction, and all I want is more. The pull and push of the connection we share seems to be growing stronger every time we’re together.

Unlatching her lips from mine, she turns back and focuses on the open water.

She feels it too.

The tightening in my cock, the rapid beat of my pulse, and the taste of her left on my tongue puts me into a state of overdrive. I hold onto her fingers, squeeze them, press my naked chest to her bare back, and try to temper my need for her.

Taking what I can, I then inhale a deep breath. Unable to calm the storm raging inside me, I know I have to take action. This isn’t a storm of conflict, this is one of pure male need. “You have to stand up,” I murmur into her ear.

Again, she tips her head back. “Why?”

“You know why.”

The little vixen shifts a little more and grinds a little harder against my cock.

“Behave,” I growl and quickly stand up, bringing her with me, and then I ease up on the throttle and put the cabin cruiser in neutral.

“What’s going on? Jake asks.

I switch the engine off. “Taking a quick dip,” I tell him as I narrow my eyes at Charlotte.

She shrugs all innocent like.

“Remind me to spank you later,” I whisper in her ear.

Surprisingly, I see a thrill in her eyes.

Waggling my brows at her, my little problem is only growing, so I quickly hop up to the side of the boat and dive into the lake. The water is fucking freezing out this far and just what I need. For now anyway.

Splash. Splash.
TURN IT UP TEASER 6

Review

Jill’s Review

I have been waiting for Kim Karr’s Turn It Up since I finished Set The Pace – wanting to delve back into the world of cars, mystery, love and mayhem in Detroit. And once I opened it I didn’t want to stop until I knew it all!

Turn It Up picks up right where Set The Pace leaves off. YES. You need to read Set The Pace first. This is a duet and everything is wrapped up at the end of Turn It Up. I promise!

So we have childhood best friends Jasper and Clare… they were inseparable growing up – until their lives and families tore them apart. They haven’t seen each other until Clare comes back to town as an adult. Now they are together but their lives are in chaos – mystery, deaths, attacks, imprisonment, false accusations and just plain drama! As they make their way through all of this (yeah that’s all I’m giving you because really. don’t you want to read it for yourself?) it can rip them apart if they choose to go it alone or it can bring them even closer together.

I think what I loved about Turn It Up was while it was full of action and I was NEEDING to know what happened – who was at the root of it all – it also centered on relationships. The two together just made the book click for me. We see Clare and Jasper’s relationship deepen, and mature as they relearn each other and come to terms with their own baggage. They are just plain good for each other and help each other grow into the best version of themselves. And let me tell you they are smoking together – as they take their foot off of the brakes and go full steam ahead… together! They cannot get enough of each other, and I couldn’t get enough of them! And Clare and Jasper isn’t the only relationship dealt with here. We get such great moments with all of the side characters. As the mayhem hits everyone involved and they are forced to confront the ghosts from their pasts as well. I adored seeing these and it added so much to the story. (Though I do hope we get to see some more of them in the future.. hint, hint😉 )

I definitely recommend this book – this duet. You don’t want to miss this thrilling ride!

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.

Meet Kim Karr

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I’ve always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.
