Melissa Foster’s Tru Blue is an emotional read that not only pulled on my heart strings with the entirety of its backstory but also hit all of those sweet spots that just make my heart sing with happiness. It is full of heart ache but will ultimately mend your heart back together and give you hope. It is full of raw passion and steam but also sweet and tender moments.
Let’s be honest… you just look at that cover and you start to melt deep inside. A strong man, covered in tats just hoping that baby so protectively. It is everything that turns your body to mush. And that pretty much sums up what will happen to you over and over throughout this book. Truman is rough and tough. He had an awful childhood. And he is just coming out of spending time in jail for something he didn’t do. But everything he does is to protect those he loves. And even though his exterior is rough. Even though he doesn’t feel like he deserves all the finer things in life. Just like that cover illustrates, the goodness and love can’t help but shine through. And you can’t help but lose your heart to him. And guess what? Neither could Gemma!
The attraction between them is undeniable. It is HOT! It doesn’t matter that their pasts are about as different as night and day. They connect on every level that counts! (And no I don’t just mean between the sheets! – Though really you don’t want to miss those scenes!) They are a couple that you just want to see every happiness for.
I definitely recommend Tru Blue. It was a fast read that sucked me in right from the start as I rooted for this family to find their HEA!

I was born in Euclid, Ohio, living in Wickliffe until I was seven. It was then that we moved to a small town in Kentucky. I married young and still live in that small town with my husband. We have three children, a daughter-in-law, and three (almost four now!) grandchildren. Our parents all live close by, as well as our children. I love watching my birds on the deck and having herb gardens and trees. My pinterest account is mostly filled with books I love reading and also on gardening ideas.
I’ve always enjoyed writing. It wasn’t until the death of my middle sister, that I found that I could escape my daily life in writing, it was a great way to deal with the mourning process. The only sharing I did during this time was for extra credit in school and for my friends and family.
My desire to write took a side-burner when I had children of my own. But with time passing, the stories became more like little movies and I knew I needed to write again. As I worked on this book, I never thought I would do anything with it, but as time passed, I knew I wanted to share it! One of my favorite authors, Susan Mallery was going to be at a convention. She kept posting about the RT convention, and so I ended up going to my first one. I learned a lot there and made some wonderful friends (Monica, Damon, and Stephanie), but most importantly, it gave me direction. The second one I attended, I submitted my book to the company I fell in love with through Monica.
I work as a paramedic and love this job also! It’s very rewarding as it is also stressful! EMS does not get the justification as it should, especially when EMS and firefighting are two separate identities as in most smaller communities. Most of my off time is filled with family and getting the time to just stay at home.

“Bull?” my voice breathy.
“Yeah?”
“The last time I let someone close to me… it didn’t go well.”
He pecks a kiss on my erect nipple that was in his mouth seconds before.
“Anahi, Alvaro is a boy pretending to be a man, and I’m about to show you the difference between pretending and actually being,” he states matter of fact, his tone smug.
I smirk. “You’re so arrogant.”
He lifts his chin, his eyes finding mine. “Only one way to find out, darlin’,” he states wolfishly. “I’m going to fuck you to the point you’ll have to take your time sitting down afterwards, baby.”
With that, the head of his length presses into me. My back arches off the bed, an audible gasp leaving my lips. Bull pushes in another couple inches, filling me to the point I swear I can’t take anymore. The sensation of burning and bliss battling with one another I can’t help but fidget beneath him. I don’t know whether to cry or moan.
He slips in more, filling me to the brink and a cry rips up my throat. Bull presses his lips against mine, silencing my pain.
Fucking me like he hates me, but kissing me like he cares.
