    I could not get enough of the D. I just wanted more and more of it. Bring me more D! Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam just nailed it with this book.

    When I saw the blurb for the book, it definitely caught my attention and made me think… hmmmm, I think this will be fun. But once I dove into this book it was just so much more. Yes, it was a fun and entertaining read. Yes, there was banter and jokes galore that had me chuckling! Yes, I was kinda wishing I could REALLY see this NSFW blog post — I mean really I am ONLY curious for the artistic value of it, HONEST! 😉 But there was also heart and feeling and emotion behind it. I adored and fell hard for the characters. I wanted to be friends with them and hang with them. And I was truly impressed with the writing. It was seamless. If I hadn’t seen on the cover that it was a co-authored book, I would never in a million years have guessed that this book had two different voices behind it.

    I definitely recommend this read. This is one that will brighten your day!

    How the hell did I ever last with this woman? Before I can even fashion a comeback, she taps her toe against the tire on Wagner’s car. “I see you still like to make your cars with big, manly wheels.”

     

    I roll my eyes then make a give it to me now motion with my hands. “All right, Henley. Deliver the punchline.”

    Joy Ride is another fantastic Romantic Comedy from Lauren Blakely.

    Her books are always chock full of characters that have such unique, full personalities and quirks. And the way they interact with each other… well to say that they are an enemy to lover’s type of story seems to undersell it. They are a mentor/mentee relationship gone horribly wrong — you know when Max fired Henley after she made one mistake. Harsh, right? So now that they have crossed paths again, you can bet the sparks ignite.

    Max & Henley are two characters that you just can’t help but love. The witty banter and sexual chemistry between the two are beyond amazing. The banter in Lauren Blakely books is always spot on… but it is just so perfect in this one. The sexual car innuendos were so hilarious — I couldn’t get enough. They truly made a huge mark on this book. And the chemistry between them just sizzled and crackled, made the sexytimes that much hotter!

    I have to admit that cars are NOT my thing. I know nothing about them — well I know how to fill them up with gas, but that’s pretty much the extent of it. Ask me about books, ask me about sports — I can talk your ear off! Ask me about cars — I can say, that looks pretty. But let me tell you this book definitely got my engine revving! Having both leads being able to go toe to toe and hold their own against each other in their knowledge of and skill with custom cars was fantastic.

    I more than recommend this book. If you are looking for a book that is full of passion and will have you laughing and swooning then you want to take this one on a Joy Ride 😉

    What had started as a fun little game to bring this timid beauty out of her shell somehow turned into a wrestling match.

    “There was a familiarity in the way they touched. The way they leaned into one another, the way they walked. It was as if they’d been doing so forever.”

    I studied her for a quiet moment, recalling the intensity of her words and the passion in her voice. It was the first time since meeting Katelyn O’Malley, I could actually see a sliver of Laura Stone, the author, somewhere inside.

    “I do believe you are a bit of a romantic at heart,” I replied.

    She smiled sweetly. “Maybe a hopeless one.”

    My hand reached out to hers, a needless gesture since we’d already achieved our goal for the evening and sold everyone on our false marital status.

    This time, I touched her because I wanted to.

    “Definitely not hopeless,” I said softly, knowing that instant that I was crossing the line between business and pleasure.

    “So, tell me about technical editing,” she said, shifting topics. “How does one get into something like that?”

    Flat-out lying.

    I needed to remember that. “There’s not much to tell,” I said, straightening slightly in my chair. “Rather boring really.”

       “Miss Jacobson. A word?”

        

                Hearing him say my name with force and control causes my pussy to instantly clench in anticipation.  “Of course.”

        

                I approach his desk and make my way around so I’m directly in front of where he’s sitting.

        

                He turns his chair towards me before he leans around my frame to say to the last student walking out, “Shut the door behind you, please.”

     He shoves down a growl yet I hear the tail end of it. Nate braces an arm on the desk, allowing his hand to dangle off, and proceeds in a quiet, firm tone, “Miss Jacobson, I just want you to be aware that what happened between us last night was…” His mouth struggles to say the word mistake.


     He shouldn’t be able to because he knows it wasn’t one. It was far from some momentary lapse of judgement. No. What happened between us was the beginning of something deep and beautiful.


     “It was a onetime indiscretion. I would appreciate it if you kept it between us. My job here as a sub matters to me and if rumors got around that something happened between me and a student-”


     “I won’t tell,” I promise and scoot closer, his hand now lightly touching the fabric of my dress.


     Nate gradually nods. “Good. And I just want to be clear with you, it won’t happen again.”


     I drop my hand on top of his. A sharp jolt of electricity shocks us both into lightly moaning. With a crooked smirk on my face, I state, “That’s where you’re wrong, Nate. It can and it will.” Before he can argue, I nudge his hand to check underneath the hem of my dress. His fingertip eagerly grazes my wet lips.


    An animalistic groan is stifled in his throat.   


     “Whenever you’re ready…I’m all yours.”

    “So, you came here to what, let loose?” I ask suggestively, lust hanging from the tip of my tongue.

    Taking a small step, I invade her space. Using my finger, I tuck it firmly under her chin making her look me in the eyes. God, she’s so fucking soft to touch, my hands itch to take advantage of her body and soul. That’s what I do, I devour innocent women, and scar their souls to the point they’re damaged goods.

    “Were you going to fuck one of my men tonight, Alessandra?” I ask hastily.

    M.N. Forgy’s Sin City Outlaws series is such a dark, raw and dirty series. And Retaliate definitely lives up to this!

    Retaliate is the third book in the series and while it builds on some of the backstory that you learned in the first two books, if you pick up the series here you can most certainly read this one as a standalone.

    In Retaliate we have the MC and cops once again crossing paths as Felix and Alessandra are thrown together. And their chemistry is definitely off the charts — no matter if it is welcome or not. The way that they were put in each others path was unconventional… but so definitely needed. These two are just too perfect for each other — even though it takes a while for them to see it. They compliment each other so well. Alessandra is a cop that doesn’t always play by the rules… she likes to see results and that things work out fair — so she just may take things into her own hands from time to time. She is a strong woman that doesn’t back down from a fight and the more that we learn about her and her past the more we understand, just why that is. Felix can seem like a heartless, scary badass. But the more we see him around Alessandra the more you see it just takes the right person to bring out the heart in the brooding alpha.

    The drama and action in this book seriously just did not stop. And the backstory added a layer of darkness that… damn, I just don’t have words for. It was dark. It was beyond disturbing. Really, I don’t even want to think about it. But, you know what? I could NOT put that book down. GAHHHH. I needed to know how it would all play out. And damn, if I don’t want to dive back into this dark disturbing world for more!

    If you love some dark and gritty MC, then you will not want to miss out on this!
