The book community is a wide and diverse community with lakes, ponds, oceans and mountains separating us. What binds us together are our authors. Their words touch us. Their stories connect us. A book signing’s success isn’t based on how many books an author sells, but on how many new friends we make. And that is what we are. A community of friends. Book signings allow us to meet up with friends, make new friends, and together create memories that will last a lifetime.
Lee, Jill, and Yessi are three friends that had the idea of hosting their own signing. Each one of us brings our own unique flair and talent, making Just Another Book Signing an event you don’t want to miss. Over 70 authors will be here for the signing which will be on August 6, 2016 from 10:30 AM -3 PM. After the signing, you can join us outdoors by Miami’s riverwalk for drinks, hor deourvs, and dancing.
Proceeds from our event will go to G-PACT, an organization we feel deserves more recognition. Digestive tract paralysis is a gastric motility disorder that many are left unaware of, and we at JABS want to shed light and enlighten the public about. We have seen how living with such a disorder can impact a person’s life and believe that donating the proceeds from our event will not only benefit G-PACT, but also raise awareness. G-PACT is run entirely by volunteers and is dedicated to providing services to patients who suffer from digestive tract paralysis. Their efforts have reached over 35 countries and all 50 states. In the next few months, they, along with Genetic Alliance, will begin collecting data for gastroparesis for researchers in the field.
