Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy…
Nestled among rolling hills and painted with vibrant wildflowers, the bucolic town of Storm, Texas, seems like nothing short of perfection.
But there are secrets beneath the facade. Dark secrets. Powerful secrets. The kind that can destroy lives and tear families apart. The kind that can cut through a town like a tempest, leaving jealousy and destruction in its wake, along with shattered hopes and broken dreams. All it takes is one little thing to shatter that polish.
Reading like an on-going drama in the tradition of classic day and night-time soap operas like Dallas, Dynasty, and All My Children, Rising Storm is full of scandal, deceit, romance, passion, and secrets.
With 1001 Dark Nights as the “producer,” Julie Kenner and Dee Davis use a television model with each week building on the last to create a storyline that fulfills the promise of a drama-filled soap opera. Joining Kenner and Davis in the “writer’s room” is an incredible group of New York Times bestselling authors such as Lexi Blake, Elisabeth Naughton, Larissa Ione, Rebecca Zanetti and Lisa Mondello who have brought their vision of Storm to life.
A serial soap opera containing eight episodes in season one, the season premiere of Rising Storm, TEMPEST RISING, debuted September 24th with each subsequent episode releasing consecutively this fall.
So get ready. The storm is coming.
About WEATHER THE STORM: Episode 7 of the Rising Storm Series
Secrets, Sex and Scandals …
Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy… Get ready. The storm is coming.
Bryce Daniels faces a crisis of faith when his idyllic view of his family is challenged with his son’s diagnosis of autism. Instead of accepting his wife and her tight-knit family’s comfort, he pushes them away, fears from his past threatening to undo the happiness he’s found in his present.
Jill’s Review for WEATHER THE STORM
So usually when I see that a book from the Rising Storm series has hit my kindle I do a little dance (it’s true) and try to clear everything away so I that no one interrupts me and I can sink into my guilty pleasure *sigh*… But this week when Weather The Storm showed up, for the very first time I paused. Here we are Episode #7! *GASP* Lisa Mondello presents us with the next to last episode of the season and I just don’t know if I am ready for this… Okay.. yeah that pause didn’t last all that long. Because the lure of Storm was calling for me. And once again I was sucked into the world that these authors have painted for us.
In this episode we slip into the private lives of Bryce and Tara Daniels and their family. They are struggling. This is a theme that many people can relate to. Having issues communicating with a spouse, not knowing how to talk about your fears and instead turning inward instead of to each other for comfort. Bryce and Tara’s son was just formally diagnosed with autism. Tara comes from a large and very close family and they have surrounded the Daniels’ with love and support. However, this diagnosis has brought up old fears and insecurities for Bryce and a close family that one can rely on is not something that he is accustomed to so he retreats further away. Will Bryce and Tara make it through these new challenges? Will they come out of this a stronger family and weather this storm or will it batter them?
What adds an extra layer to this family drama is that Bryce is the Pastor in this tiny scandal driven town of Storm. And he feels the weight of everything that has been going on — all the sorrow and grief. So he has been trying to bury his own issues and dive into supporting and being there for his parishioners instead. In addition it is hard when you may be having a crisis of faith yourself. Questioning what is going on with your own family, your son… But it was actually THESE very issues that drew me into this story first. Many of us have had a crisis of faith before when we have seen something happen to someone we love. Whether you have a strong connection to your religion and have a crisis that way or whether you just sit there and scream to no one and nothing in particular WHY WHY WHY? Questioning because you don’t know what to do or how to help or how to move past where you are right now. This is not an issue that is Bryce’s alone. And often we forget that it is the simplest things we need to do. Talk. Communicate. Touchbase with another. And that is EXACTLY what Bryce had lost sight of. Watching Bryce and Tara find their way to each other was just beautiful. It brought a ray of light back into Storm.
I definitely recommend that you tune into this series. Just start from the beginning 😉 They are fun, quick reads that will grab you and suck you in!
I received a complimentary copy of Weather The Storm in exchange for my honest review.

In 2011 she re-released her award winning book All I Want for Christmas is You along with a re-issue of her romantic comedy, The Marriage Contract, with a new contemporary romance called The Knight and Maggie’s Baby.
