the luckiest woman in the world.
to happen.
We would never be married.
Having his children was out of the question.
I was alone, dependent on myself once again and it petrified me. I wanted him back, and I didn’t care how wrong that sounded. How was I to go on when all that I loved had been ripped away?
You know right from the title of this book Happily Ever Never – that this is going to be a heart breaker! Then you go on to read the synopsis and that crack in your heart grows a little more as you realize they never even make it their wedding. So if you are like me you expect it to be like most books, and for this to occur by the second chapter and the rest of the book to be about her journey after. But that isn’t what Jennifer Foor gives you. Instead you get to watch the epic love story happen from the first day they meet scrambling on the ground in the parking lot. You get to watch their love grow and see how perfectly they compliment each other. All the while with a pit in your stomach wondering when that piece of bad news is coming and how…
And so when it happens… BOOM! You are already so invested in them, you love them both so much, you are just devastated. You feel it like she does, and the tears come… So while part of you wants to throw your ereader across the room for the knot in your throat the whole time leading up to now — it is absolute brilliance! If it had been done any other way, my eyes wouldn’t have leaked for so much of this book. I wouldn’t have so keenly felt her devastation or rooted for her as she clawed her way back to life.
This book is driven by emotions and characters. And both are done with strength and depth and will take you on a ride. Neither remain static and will change and evolve as the book goes on, as it should. Happily Ever Never deals with love, loss, family, grieving, healing and learning to love again. It is a book you need to give a chance to and experience for yourself. But expect to be taken on a bit of a roller-coaster emotionally.
I absolutely recommend this book.
