Everything happens for a reason.
Do you want to hear a story?
It’s about a girl who had everything. She was so happy and loved her life. She had an amazing family and a boy who loved her with his whole heart. Then, one day, the girl became lost and wasn’t sure what to do. She was scared to leave the one place that held her heart. She asked herself how she could move on and be okay. She looked for signs, but nothing came to her.
Were the signs coming?
Would she know what direction to take?
These were the questions she asked herself. Then, one night, she found herself in her bathroom, staring at a pill bottle. She stared for so long, wondering what would happen if she took the pills.
* * * * *
Putting the bottle to my face, I wonder how fast it would be. My grip around the pill bottle gets stronger. Sobs escape my lungs and slip through my lips. The shattering pain that blisters through pushes me forward. I look at the reflection in the mirror and anger spews from me. Lifting my right arm, I punch the mirror several times, feeling the shards of glass slicing my hand. The pain sears through, but I don’t feel it. The pain of my broken heart is stronger.
I grab a piece of the shattered glass and hold it tightly in my hand. I want the pain to go away. I want to feel alive again. I want to breathe, and I want to let go. Since losing him, I’ve been hiding. No one can pull me out of this. I don’t want anyone to. Honestly, I like being alone to think about how I feel without him. When I’m alone, I don’t have to pretend to smile to please whoever is around me. Believe me, no one likes to be around suicidal and depressed people. We’re the downers, and there’s only so much someone can take before they disregard the person.
I’m being disregarded.
Pushing down the top of the bottle, I toss the cap aside and look at the white pills. This is the only way I can be with Brody again.
He’s my rock.
Vision of Hope by S Moose is the third book in the Infinity Series, and just like the previous two it was a beautiful story but prepared to ride the roller-coaster of emotions that are packed into the book.
It is told from three POVs – Jensen, Lisa and Fallyn. Jensen the sexy as sin doctor who is busy as the medical director of the hospital and planning his happily ever after with his girlfriend Lisa. Lisa is going back to college to finish her nursing degree…away. And the pressure of school and being away from home is tearing at her and putting stress on her relationship. Fallyn, a nurse at the hospital, has recently moved to town and is silently grieving a broken heart all her own. With Lisa out of town and the same circle of friends (and work!) Jensen and Fallyn become close friends as Jensen and Lisa’s relationship becomes more and more estranged.
I truly enjoyed this story. I know that some of you are shying away right from the beginning of the synopsis! As soon as you saw: ‘Three lives. One mistake. One decision.’ But this isn’t your typical love triangle. (I will also be upfront that I don’t mind love triangles! I can be a drama whore in my reading!) But this isn’t that. This is above all a story of friendship, healing, discovering oneself, and finding true love. I loved that it got messy and confused because you know what? Real life IS messy! People get confused and need to work their way through their feelings. True friends surround you and are there for you. And that is what happened here. They had a group of friends that surrounded them and supported them and they lived their messy life until (and even after!) they sorted through all of their feelings.
Yes – there will be times you want to shake some characters. You will definitely want to scream at one. (You may even have an urge to slap her!) You will definitely tear up! And if you are at all like me you will feel like you are going through all of this with them (please tell me I am not alone in this! Living the book through the characters…) But that is just a testament to how well S Moose has shaped the story and written the characters.
I highly recommend this book, however I would also read Vision of Love & Vision of Destiny first just so that you have all of the back-story on everyone. (Plus they rock!) You won’t be lost here without them, you will just get more out of the story with them 😉
I received a complimentary copy of Vision of Hope in exchange for my honest review.
