 Review
Title: Boy Toy Chronicles
Author: Jay McLean
Genre: New Adult Romantic Humor

Synopsis

Warning: This book contains slightly inappropriate everything.

“So…I came up with a plan.

I sat the brothers down and gave them my speech; we’d become male escorts.

The house was split.

The single dudes thought it was great. The guys with the steady girlfriends told the single dudes they were insane.

I promised them all we could make it work without hurting anybody. But we had to be smart about it. We had to keep it off campus. We had to keep it a secret. And in order to do so, we had to target those who wanted it kept a secret as much as we did.

Our target: Filthy rich, unsatisfied, horny housewives.

Keep it high class, so to speak.

And thus began BTC, or Boy Toy Corporation.

Crazy, right?

Crazy genius.”

-Tyler West.

★★★★★FIVE STARS for Boy Toy Chronicles: Volume One by Jay McLean

I’m usually not a big fan of novellas– especially the serial ones where you have to wait for the next volume to come out for the continuation of the story. I’m not patient enough for that business.

But Boy Toy Chronicles by Jay McLean was not like that– it’s a complete standalone with (I’m assuming) a new story for a different guy from the BTC for each subsequent volume. And it was AWESOME!

In this first volume, we meet the main character, Tyler, who is the president of the fraternity that makes up the Boy Toy Corporation. Straight up, I’m in love with him. He’s hilarious, sweet, protective, & knows how to please a woman. Oh, and he’s hot. Yep, I’m totally in love with him.

Woven into this story of the BTC, and the hilarious situations Tyler and the other guys find themselves in with their clients, is a love story.

To me, this was the perfect setup. There were so many moments of hilarity, sweetness, just a little angst, and sexy times that aren’t taken too seriously. Anytime I can say ‘awwwww!’, ‘OMG!’, ‘ewwww!’, ‘SWOON!’, and ‘yay!!!!’ while I’m reading the same book– I’d say it’s just about the perfect book!

And Jay McLean can write from the male point of view like nobody’s business. Like, seriously- where DOES she come up with this sh*t?! I don’t know, but I’m in love with the way her mind works. And I can totally see these guys hanging out with the crew in her More series (a MUST read!). So that should tell you how great these characters are!

Reading Boy Toy Chronicles was like watching an episode of one of my favorite shows and I was hooked from the very beginning to the end. It was a short read, but it left me completely satisfied. And I sure can’t wait for the next “episode”!
