Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted…my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I’m about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra…that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.
But the only person able to do that…is my best friends sister, Mo Abandonato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.
Im cursed so I did it.
I’m numb so I held it.
I’m wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare–the five families greatest enemy. It’s my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I’m going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I’ve always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death…yours.
Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family
“What?” I asked wincing as the pain was starting to travel up my leg.
“Not here.” She sighed. “We need to go to your room I need you to lie down.”
Chase chuckled. “If I had a dollar—”
“What?” Mil gave him an I–will-kill-you expression. “Really, I’m dying to know.”
“Then…” Chase looked at me helplessly. “I’d only have a dollar?”
“Good answer.”
“Shit,” he mumbled under his breath.
“Come on.” Mil stood. “We’ll help you guys take Tex to his room.”
“I’m fine.” I grumbled standing again only to fall back in my chair.
“Aw, he’s like a baby giraffe.” Chase clapped. “All wobbly like.”
“Can I at least be a baby tiger?” I pleaded. “My pride and all that.”
“Baby tigers are so cute.” Mil grinned.
“Just kidding. I want to be a baby tarantula.”
“Too late.” Mil sighed happily. “Baby tiger it is.”
Mo hid a smile behind her hand before grabbing the kit. Chase moved to the side of the chair and helped me to my feet. “Try not to like my touch too much, man. Remember I’m married.”
“I’ll try to keep my penis at bay.” I said dryly.
“That’s really all I ask.” Chase grunted as he helped me walk down the hall. “Well that and keeping it in your pants.”
“I can’t even walk, I won’t rape you, dude.”
“One can never be too cautious,” Chase sang.
Once we were in my room, Chase dropped me onto the bed. It squeaked under my weight.
Rachel Van Dyken’s Elicit is the fourth book in the Eagle Elite series. Each book so far has kept me riveted to the pages and I am afraid I have developed an addiction to these Eagle Elite mafia books—I cannot get enough!
If you have yet to delve into the MAFIA MADNESS that is the world of Eagle Elite (Elite, Elect, Entice, and now Elicit), you should start NOW! Meet the five Families and our super sexy, swoon-worthy mafia men and our strong, kick a$$ Mafia women! I don’t even know how to sum up the absolute EPICNESS of Rachel Van Dyken’s Eagle Elite series. I have read each one and as I finished each book I would think how amazing it was and that there was no way she could possibly top it. Then Rachel would hand me the next book in the series and blow my mind away (and yes the pun is intended!) This series has it all – friendship, loyalty, secrets, betrayals, romance, love, steaminess, action, drama, laughter and tears. It will have you at the edge of your seat and begging for the next book! Don’t wait any longer! Go and grab it NOW! You won’t regret it!!
Now about Elicit…my reaction-weeks after reading this is still, NO WORDS! There are just NO WORDS that could ever do this book and the emotional rollercoaster it put me through justice! PLUS, OY VEY the spoilers!
Elicit is Tex and Mo’s book. Getting to know Tex better in this book – so worth the wait! His personality was really able to shine through here, every single nuance of it. No longer just the joker, who makes light of every situation, we get to see all of the other sides that have been hinted at in previous books. We see the man who was born to lead, the scary intelligence he possesses, the passionate lover, the all-consuming love he has always had for Mo. We really see Tex and Mo and their relationship – every volatile, hot and cold, push and pull, friend and enemy, love-filled, passionate moment of it. At times you want to wring their necks and scream at them! And other times it is the most beautiful thing you will read and I had tears pouring down my face.
The relationship between the friends, both our mafia women and our mafia men is just brilliant to see. It will both touch your heart and rip it to shreds! They are a Family in every sense of the word. BUT as the synopsis says:
I’ve always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death…yours.
Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.
Elicit was beyond even my wildest dreams! It is non-stop from the prologue to the very end. And there is even a special treat included! In the back of Elicit is a BONUS NOVELLA!!! All of you Nixon & Trace fans out there brace yourselves for: Enamor! Where you get a bit more of Nixon bliss! I cannot recommend elicit highly enough!
I received a copy of Elicit from the author in exchange for an honest review.
